Dave ( the victim ) has been signed off work for two weeks.
The police took photographic evidence of his injury.

I THINK THAT PEOPLE SHOULD STOP TREATING THIS LIKE AN EPISODE OF EASTENDERS, THE DID HE OR DID HE NOT...ON THE SOAPS THEY ARE ACTORS, THIS IS REAL LIFE, AND SOMEONES REPUTATION IS BEING DRAGGED THROUGH THE MUD...ALSO WILL PEPOLE GET THE DEFINITION OF 'GLASSING' CORRECT!!!!!
AND AS TO NOT CONDONING VIOLENCE, WHICH IS TRUE, HOW MANY OF YOU CAN HAND AND HEART SAY THEY HAVE NEVER LOST IT. Erm I can!

Wow, well I have to say this has all been interesting reading since my last comment. Thank you Darren for clarifying the situation. I shall message you on FB. Whether it was an accident or not, the jury will decide, and as I already said, he'll probably only get a suspended sentance if he's got a clean record, and with the amount of people who will give him good character references, I honestly don't think he'll go down for it. Don't get me wrong, if it wasn't an accident, I don't condone this sort of behaviour at all. I've been on the wrong end of violence in the past, and have the scars to prove it, but unless we all watch the footage, and hear all the evidence etc, it's hard to say for sure what REALLY happened. lesbo power, I agree with your comments also.

I would also like to point out it seems that people are trying to make out that it was a 2 way arguement and some how involved Erick from the fountain. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Erick is in my bar 4 or 5 times a week, always stands in the same place (where the incident took place) and has NEVER caused any trouble what so ever. He was a victim in all of this as well as David. I was djing and out of sight when Erick asked my staff to come and fetch me as he knew it was about to "kick off". I am going to leave this in the hands of the police as they are requesting 3 copies of the cctv and after watching the cctv myself I can see exactly what happened. Darren.

The whole situation could have been avoided if a certain person hadnt thrown glasses, I have never had any trouble in my pub, and if I had doorstaff on every night then I wouldnt be in a position to keep the pub going as they cost far to much money. Is there doorstaff at the fox then????? A member of my staff was drunk that night and has been seriously repremanded over the situation. I for one (NO MATTER HOW DRUNK) would never cause any trouble in someone else's venue NEVER MIND use weapons!

No story on the Zone website yet.
To paraphrase Neil Kinnock's Spitting Image puppet:
